BAILDON/SHIPLEY FLOOD SUPPORT UPDATE
Please SHARE
Thank you for the tremendous amount of donations, manpower and offers of help received today at Shipley Salvation Army. We are working with Shipley Rotary Club, Shipley Transition Town, Scouting groups from across the district and Human Appeal. We have created a database of all offers of help and will contact people as needed. Once the water has gone down we will be helping with clean up operations. We have received lots of clothing, bedding, towels, food, toys, small electrical household items, crockery and much more. We are asking for people to stop general donations for now until we have sorted and assessed what we already have and the needs of the local area. However, we do need:
Vacuum pack bags
Storage boxes
Sand bags
Tin openers
These are the ONLY items we are able to take at present until items already donated are sorted and distributed
We are open Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday 9am-1pm, Thursday 9am-7pm, for people to come and help sort donations and for volunteers to come and sign up or take a break. People who need help can come at these times but also can call 07951471652, our newly set up local crisis response number, at any time and we can come down to open up and provide aid.
People wishing to donate money are asked to donate Shipley Rotary Club who are setting up a Flood Relief Fund. Again, thank you, lets all work together and be a united front to provide support to all.
