We are Bradford North Scouts

A co-educational movement who help young people in the UK enjoy new adventures and gain essential skills for life. We strive to make change, uplift the youth of today and make the adults of tomorrow.

We encourage young people to experience new things, interact with others, gain confidence, go outdoors and have the opportunity to reach their full potential. It’s not just young people who can get in on the action either, with volunteer opportunities to help make what we do possible.

We encourage young people to do more, learn more and be more. Each week, we help half a million young people aged 4-25 enjoy fun and adventure while developing the skills they need to succeed, now and in the future.

We’re talking about teamwork, leadership and resilience – skills that have helped Scouts become everything from teachers and social workers to astronauts and Olympians. We help young people develop and improve key life skills.

We believe in bringing people together. We celebrate diversity and stand against intolerance, always. We’re part of a worldwide movement, creating stronger communities and inspiring positive futures.

We have a range of groups covering Bradford East and West locations. From Thornton, Fairweather Green, Allerton, Heaton, Bierley, Eccleshill, Undercliffe, Bolton Road and many others, find your local group below.

Both young people and future volunteers are welcome.

Bradford North was the result of the merger of Bradford East and West Districts in 2004, this was when scouting in Yorkshire was re-organised. The name created was to bring both districts together and to reflect our sister district Bradford South. Bradford has been involved in scouting as early as 1912 when Scouting was introduced into Yorkshire.

As a district we strive in helping young people gain #skillsforlife. To do this we support our local groups with help from our District Lead Volunteer and Leadership Team. Information, developments and decisions are then fed down into local Scouting groups.

All of our Scouting district, including local scout groups, are volunteer ran. Consider starting your adventure as a volunteer here.

Blackhills Campsite is 40 acres of unspoilt natural land that is ran by both Bradford North and South scouting districts. They offer a complete range of accommodation, from the most basic backwoods camps to their centrally heated centres. Being catered towards Scout, Guides and Youth groups, Blackhills offers a peaceful, exciting and brand new adventure.
