There are many ways for you to get involved as a parent – helping out occasionally on a parents rota, volunteering your time as a leader, helping run our Scout District and many more. Our volunteering opportunities allow for anyone to be able to give back and lend a hand. Whether you are helping a leader run an activity at your local meeting place, assisting in a hike, organising a night away or pouring 20 cups of tea – no two Scout meetings are the same! The difference you make though will last a lifetime.

Make an incredible difference, volunteer today

All our activities and sessions are run by volunteers, who might join us because they want to:

  • Try something fun and new
  • Make friends
  • Spend time with their children – or gain experience with young people
  • Do something good for their community and themselves
  • Keep their bodies and brains active and happy – whether that’s by scaling mountains, sharing skills or serving tea

What to expect:

  • A warm welcome
  • Flexibility to get involved in a way that works for you
  • Easy access to training and resources online
  • Friendly ongoing support from local volunteers
  • Updates from our Scouting District through monthly in-person district meetings

Whenever you become occasional or devote your time to Scouting every week – the different you will make is huge, providing them the tools to learn essential skills for life and find about who they and their community are.

Boost your wellbeing. Its #GoodForYou!

Volunteering can be a brilliant way to boost your mental wellbeing. It’s a great feeling knowing you’re helping young people get skills for life, and you might even learn a lot about yourself along the way.

Scouts can make you feel good in other ways too. We’ll guide you to an opportunity where you’ll:

  • Make friends and meet people
  • Try new things and challenge yourself
  • Get outdoors and get stuck in
  • Positively impact your community
  • Create vital opportunities for young people
  • Make memories that’ll last a lifetime

Want to only Volunteer Occasionally?

If you can only occasionally help, that’s OK. Whether you’d like to be an activity planner, tea-maker or craft creator, we appreciate any time you can spare. Your time will help keep us to uplift the youth of today and create the adults of tomorrow.
