The Young Leaders Scheme
ESYLs are Explorer Scouts who volunteer alongside our adult volunteers in a Squirrel Drey, Beaver Colony, Cub Pack or Scout Troop.
They’re a valuable asset to any leadership team and play an active role in the section, bringing a range of fresh ideas to the table and acting as positive role models for the young people they work alongside.

Explorer Leaders
All of our leaders are trained volunteers working to make Explorers the best it can be, but we don’t just need swashbuckling adventurers to lead our expeditions. We also need tidy-uppers and tea-makers and great listeners from all walks of life – for as much or as little time as they can spare.
Moving up to Network
Eventually, it’ll be time to say farewell to Explorers and embrace your next big adventure.
