Our 2021 Annual General Meeting was held on Tuesday 14th September at Blackhills Campsite where we reviewed the previous tasking year & set out our goals for the year to come. After the main business of the AGM, our District Commissioner Wendy Flatters made several presentations as well as two investitures. Amongst the presentations were three Wood Badges, Five, Ten & Twenty Year Long Service Awards, a Forty Years Long Service Award for our newly appointed Local Training Manager and Group Scout Leader for 9th Bradford North Phil Lowde. A Fifty Years Long Service Award was presented to Malcolm Race who’s previous roles have included District Commissioner (Bradford West), Deputy District Commissioner (Bradford North) and now hold the role of Group Scout Leader for 37th Bradford North & District Nights Away Adviser.
Wendy also presented a very special Sixty Years Long Service Award to Jacqueline Craven. Jacqueline currently is the Chair of our Appointments Committee as well as Booking Secretary for Blackhills but has previously held roles as a Cub Scout Leader, District Appointments Secretary, District Cub Scouter, Assistant District Commissioner, Assistant District Commissioner Leader Training as well as serving as a member of the District’s Appointments Advisory Committee since 2011.
