Team Bradford North is made up from Team Leaders, Subject Matter Specialists, Advisers and Team Members who help to lead Scouting and run Bradford North across Bradford East and West. If you would like to contact any member feel free to do so by emailing their associated email.
How we run
Our scouting district runs through a variety of teams to help ensure we are providing the best forms of scouting in Bradford East and West. Our teams work together to make what we do here possible.
Senior Leadership
The Senior Leadership group provides overall direction, coordination, and strategic support across the District, ensuring teams work together effectively.
Wendy Flatters
DISTRICT LEAD VOLUNTEER
Wendy supports the team, keeps everything running smoothly, and makes sure Scouting in the District is safe, fun, and follows our values so young people get the best experience.
Oliver Rhodes
DISTRICT YOUTH LEAD
Oliver ensures young people have a real voice in shaping their Scouting, helping them share ideas and be involved in decisions at every level.
John Briggs
DISTRICT CHAIR
John leads the Trustee Board, helping the District make good decisions, follow the rules, and plan for a strong future.
Steven Sutcliffe
PROGRAMME TEAM LEADER
Steven supports section teams to deliver fun, inclusive, and adventurous programmes, and coordinates District-wide activities and events.
Adam Simpson
14-24 TEAM LEADER
Adam supports Explorer Scouts, Network, and Young Leaders, helping deliver great experiences and championing youth voice across the District.

Leadership Team
We make sure:
- Volunteers feel inspired, supported and valued

- Safety and safeguarding are everyone’s priority
- New volunteers are welcomed and developed
- Young people shape their own Scouting journey
- Incidents are managed and lessons are learned
Trustee Board
We make sure:
- Teams follow policies and legislation
- Scouts operates safely and legally
- Volunteers have the resources to get things done
- We’re planning and thinking for the long term
- Money, risks and buildings are managed well.
Programme Team
We make sure:
- Activities and permits are reviewed and approved
- Sections can work together
- Volunteers have networking and development opportunities
- There’s guidance on running programmes
- Skilled people are on hand to help run adventurous activates
14-25 Team
We make sure:
- Explorers and Network sections have the resources they need
- The needs of young people are met through the programme
- Young Leaders are mentored and developed
- Sections and activities are inclusive for all young people and adults
Volunteering Development Team
We make sure:
- Volunteers’ achievements are celebrated
- Volunteers have the skills they need
- Volunteers keep motivated as they complete their learning
- We’re always looking for brilliant volunteers
- Volunteers get a great welcome and induction
District Support Team
We make sure:
- We’re engaging with local communities
- We open new provision
- Administration gets done
- Fundraising is planned and run
- Scouts has a positive image and is promoted
