Dive into Scouts, the most well known section for 10½ – 14 year olds. Jump in and get muddy. Give back and get set. Scouts ignore the butterflies and go for it, and soon so will you.

When you join Scouts, you’ll be introduced to lots of new activities, people and things. Here’s everything you need to know.
Get a taste for what it’s like in Scouts
Build and develop your confidence, sense of adventure and outdoor skills. Explore you beliefs and attitudes and be creative. Gain independence and put these skills into practice at camps and even on international trips.
Uniform and Badge Placement
You don’t need a uniform to join. But once you’ve settled in, you’ll start speedily earning badges, and you’ll need to know where to put them!

Activity and Staged Badges
Master something you love, or try something shiny and new. If it spurs you on or stirs your interest, we’ve probably got a badge for it.
Awards
Scouts start small but think big, always challenging themselves to do more and be more. It starts with an award. Who knows where it might lead?
The Scout Promise
The Promise is a simple way to help young people and adults celebrate their shared Scout values. Every Scout promises to stick by these values when they become a member.
Scouts is open to people of all faiths and of none. We’ve different variations of our Promise, so everyone can make a Promise that means something to them, no matter their background or belief.
Scout Leaders
All of our leaders are trained volunteers working to make Scouts the best it can be, but we don’t just need swashbuckling adventurers to lead our expeditions. We also need tidy-uppers and tea-makers and great listeners from all walks of life – for as much or as little time as they can spare.
Moving up to Explorers
Eventually, it’ll be time to say farewell to Scouts and embrace your next big adventure.
