46th St Saviours – Bradford North Scout Group
What a weekend for the West Yorkshire Cub Scouts at the Cub 100 Camp at Bradley Woods! with a very special ‘Bear’ dropping in to the party on Saturday afternoon. The sun shone for most of the time – arranged by Val I am sure!
Our fifteen Cubs thoroughly enjoyed themselves – they were a credit to themselves and their parents – exemplary behaviour – marvellous.
For events such as this to happen there is a great reliance on the generosity of volunteers in our Scouting family:
The County Team provided a fantastic programme of thrilling activities for the young people – from zorbing and the cresta run to archery, bouncy castle adventures, baking, creating and sports. There was even time for a soak in the hot tub!
All the adults and young leaders from Bradford South, Colne Valley, Slaithwaite, Bradford North and Linthwaite on AIR/YELLOW site were a happy, smiley, friendly and helpful crowd. and made my job as sub camp leader an absolute delight. It was indeed a pleasure to work with you all.
The biggest job of all though was catering for almost 250 people – not an easy task. Outdoor facilities are a challenge when cooking for 30 never mind such huge numbers. I think I can say on behalf of each group an absolutely huge THANK YOU to our dynamic trio: Lynsey Hodgson Sean Hodgson and Nat Howard for ensuring everyone was fed with good quality, nutritious and warm food. You were stars!
Also thanks to our team who provided transport for camping and catering equipment, pitched camp, washed and dried up, ran activity bases and, and … THANK YOU: Emma Louise Day; David Hall; Steve Rollins Dave Rollins; Alice Wear; Beth McGrath; Douglas Hails; Sarah Allatt and Vicky Thornton. YOUNG LEADERS – you were also brilliant: Joe Daniels; Ethan and Eryn New Ward ; Sam Aldridge; Paulina Kuca; Nathan Allatt New; Caitlin Hodgson and Lauren Howard.
Five weeks ago my life was turned upside down – managing a sub camp became quite low on my priority list. However thanks to my wonderfully organised and super efficient daughter taking over the reins all was well. Forever grateful Nat Howard – love you xxx
