Congratulations on starting your Scouts volunteer journey and becoming a new Scout volunteer. 

We would like to invite you to one of our online ‘Welcome to Scouts’ sessions. This will give you a brief insight into Scouts and the support and resources available. This will help make sure your Scouts volunteer team is equipped with the information they need to run a fun and varied programme and keep the section open sustainably.

These are intended for:

• Group lead volunteers who are opening a new Scout Troop
• Volunteers starting a new Scout Troop
• New Scouts volunteers starting at an existing Scout Troop

This hour-long webinar, is run by the Growth & Communities team who will take you through the basic information that you need to know about opening a Scout Troop or starting as a Scouts volunteer. 

This will include:

• The basics of what a Scout Troop is
• The learning available and ratios needed
• An overview on the programme
• Useful information about the context for young people in Scouts
• Further support available to you.
