Congratulations on starting your Scouts volunteer journey and becoming a new Scout volunteer.
We would like to invite you to one of our online ‘Welcome to Scouts’ sessions. This will give you a brief insight into Scouts and the support and resources available. This will help make sure your Scouts volunteer team is equipped with the information they need to run a fun and varied programme and keep the section open sustainably.
These are intended for:
- Group lead volunteers who are opening a new Scout Troop
- Volunteers starting a new Scout Troop
- New Scouts volunteers starting at an existing Scout Troop
This hour-long webinar, is run by the Growth & Communities team who will take you through the basic information that you need to know about opening a Scout Troop or starting as a Scouts volunteer.
This will include:
- The basics of what a Scout Troop is
- The learning available and ratios needed
- An overview on the programme
- Useful information about the context for young people in Scouts
- Further support available to you.
If you think this session is for you, your group or any new Scouts volunteers starting at your Troop then please sign up to one of the sessions.

This call is designed to give you some of the basic information you need to get your Scout Troop started or if you have just started volunteering at a Scout Troop.
This session will include:-
- Getting going
- Training
- Badges & Programme
- Support available
- Question and Answer time at the end
This session will also direct you to more information via a handout which will be sent out after the session.
